Our supporters

The Patients Association is an independent registered charity that offers support and advice to patients and their families, signposting them through the health and social care system. We also provide opportunities for patients and carers to share their experiences of health and social care services with regulators, the health service and organisations representing health professionals.

We use what we hear from patients when we partner with the NHS and healthcare providers to apply pressure and improve services.

Our work is supported by individual members’ donations, and by organisations and groups through corporate donations and collaborative projects with NHS Trusts, universities and others.

The Patients Association does not receive core funding from The Department of Health or any other government body.

Our relationship with supporters

As an independent charity, we will only enter an agreement in line with our partnership principles, and we will only work with organisations or individuals that help us achieve our objectives as set out in our strategy.

Our corporate supporters and project partners provide funding and support. They have no influence over the Patients Association’s policies and practices. We have full editorial control over all materials produced in connection with a funded project including meetings, conference agendas, selection of project participants, and external communication. We reserve the right to end any partnership where its continuation may damage our reputation or result in harm to patients, carers or our members.

For more information on partnering with the Patients Association or our relationship with supporters, get in touch.

Corporate members

Becoming a corporate member of the Patients Association demonstrates your business’s genuine commitment to patients and their interests. By supporting our charitable objectives and patient-centred services like our helpline, organisations can deliver social value for patients across the UK, while meeting their Corporate Social Responsibility objectives, brand goals or wider strategic mission.

Many of our corporate members have supported the Patients Association for several years. Their annual membership fee supports a partnership that enables businesses to gain an independent understanding of the challenges patients face, what matters most to them, and the healthcare experiences they value.

For more information on becoming a corporate member, send us an email or find out more here.

Project partners

Each year, we are commissioned to engage thousands of patients, carers and communities, helping to bridge the gap between organisations and patients. We bring the voice and experiences of those navigating health and care to the heart of our project partners’ work.

Over the past few years, we have worked with charities, regulators, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), businesses, NHS England and the Department of Health and Social Care among others to involve patients in their work. Through sharing patient experience and facilitating feedback from marginalised and underrepresented groups and communities, we can ensure patients are represented in healthcare policy and solutions, and help identify issues early, saving time and resources.

To find out more about how we can engagement patients, provide training and development or improve patient communication, send us an email.

Individuals and organisations

The Patients Association is the leading voice for all patients across the UK, working to ensure everyone receives the care, dignity, and support they deserve.

As an independent charity, we rely on donations from our supporters to run our patient support services, including our helpline which supports thousands of patients each year.

Your donations help us to empower patients, influence healthcare policy, and provide crucial resources for those navigating complex medical systems. Your support directly improves lives by championing patient rights and amplifying their voices in the decisions that matter most. Together, we can build a healthcare system that truly works with, and for, patients.
